Local SEO is the work that keeps paying after you stop thinking about it. When it is done steadily, more homeowners find your company in Google's map results and organic listings without you paying for each click. It is also slow, which is why we put it on a monthly schedule and report it honestly from the start.
What the monthly work includes
Each month's local search work draws from the same five jobs. The trial findings decide which ones lead.
- Service pages. One clear page for each job you want more of: furnace replacement, heat pump installation, boiler service, AC repair, ductless systems, maintenance plans.
- Area pages. Pages for the towns and neighbourhoods you actually serve, written about the housing and heating there rather than swapped town names.
- Google Business Profile upkeep. Accurate categories and services, regular posts, fresh photos of real jobs, and questions answered.
- Technical fixes. Speed, broken links, duplicate pages, missing titles and anything that stops Google reading your site properly.
- Citations and consistency. Your name, phone number and service area kept identical across the directories that matter.
On the Growth and Elite plans the work also includes advanced SEO and content, and review generation. Reviews are often the deciding factor when a homeowner is comparing three companies in the map pack.
Who it suits
Local SEO suits any HVAC company planning to be in business for years, not weeks. It matters most if your area has three or four competitors who already rank above you, or if you depend on paid ads and want a second source of calls that doesn't stop when the budget does.
It suits you less if you need calls this week. In that case ads management does the short-term job while search work builds up underneath.
A typical first year
| Months | Focus | What usually changes |
|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | Fixes, Business Profile correction, core service pages | Little movement yet; foundations in place |
| 3–4 | Area pages, first content, citation clean-up | Early ranking gains for less competitive terms |
| 5–8 | Content volume, seasonal pages ahead of each season | More calls from organic and map results |
| 9–12 | Fill gaps found in reports, strengthen what works | Search becomes a dependable call source |
This pattern is typical rather than certain. A small market with weak competitors can move in weeks; a crowded metro can take the full year. Our 12-month calendar guide shows how the content is timed to the heating and cooling seasons.
How we measure it
Rankings are a signal, not the goal. The report leads with calls and booked jobs from organic search and the Business Profile, then shows the supporting numbers: which pages brought those calls, which searches you appear for, and how your map position compares with the competitors from your trial benchmark.
The proof we point to is all HVAC work. Roma Heating & Cooling grew organic traffic 400% in 12 months. At HeatLand, a library of 850+ SEO articles went hand in hand with a 300% lead increase in 6 months. CombiBoiler.ca holds 500+ page-1 rankings for combi-boiler keywords. The results page explains what made each one work.
What we need from you each month
Local search work goes faster with a few minutes of your time. Send us photos from real jobs, with the customer's permission and no addresses visible. Tell us when you add a service, change your hours or start working in a new town. And forward any review that mentions a specific job, because it often points to a page worth writing.
Mistakes to avoid
- Town-name pages with nothing else changed. Google treats them as thin, and homeowners can tell.
- A Business Profile at a home address you don't want shown. Set it up as a service-area business from the start.
- Buying reviews or asking for them in bulk. It breaks Google's rules and can cost you the profile.
- Stopping after three months. Most of the value arrives after the point where impatient owners quit.

Frequently asked questions
How long before local SEO brings more calls?
Usually a few months. The first 60 days are mostly fixes and new pages; noticeable movement more often shows up between months four and twelve. Roma Heating & Cooling's 400% organic traffic growth took 12 months.
Do you write the content yourselves?
Yes, and we check every technical point with you. We are not HVAC technicians, so anything about equipment, sizing or safety goes past your team before it is published.
What is the difference between Starter and Growth for SEO?
Starter covers SEO service pages, your Google Business Profile and local SEO. Growth adds advanced SEO and a larger content programme, plus review generation, which suits busier metro markets.
Will you promise a first-page ranking?
No. Nobody controls Google's results, and anyone who promises a position is guessing. We promise the work, in writing, and show you the results each month.
