One HVAC marketing service, scheduled month by month

Where we work

Running the service for an Ontario HVAC company

Ontario has the largest HVAC markets in Canada and some of the stiffest competition, so the build phase of the calendar (content volume, area pages and reviews) carries more weight here. Open provincial rebates give heat pump content a strong, dated hook.

Ontario is where the service has to work hardest in the middle of the calendar. The trial and onboarding look the same as anywhere else, but the build months, from four to nine, decide whether a company breaks through in a market where dozens of competitors already rank. Content volume, area pages and reviews matter more here than in most provinces.

The Ontario market and its buyers

Most Ontario homes heat with natural gas, and the biggest markets are also the most crowded. Natural gas was the main heating energy for 58% of Ontario households in 2023, with electricity at 18% and propane at 4%, based on Statistics Canada data.

Each of Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton and London is a large HVAC market in its own right, and the suburbs around Toronto (Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham) add several more, and companies in the GTA often compete across several of them at once. That makes area pages that are genuinely about each city, its housing and its heating, far more valuable than copied town-name pages. Outside the big centres, propane and rural homes are a distinct audience with their own searches.

When the calendar shifts in Ontario

Southern Ontario's lake-moderated winters and Northern Ontario's long ones need different timing. Near the Great Lakes, winters are cold but moderated; in Northern Ontario the heating season is longer and colder.

  • Southern Ontario: heating content live by September, replacement and heat pump campaigns through spring, and a genuine cooling season in summer that justifies AC campaigns.
  • Northern Ontario: heating content live by late August, a longer winter budget, and a shorter cooling window.
  • Both: rebate-driven heat pump content can run most of the year while programs stay open, which smooths out the shoulder months.

Regulators your marketing should reference

Ontario's rules on who can do and advertise certain work make accurate credentials essential.

  • The TSSA covers fuels (natural gas, propane, fuel oil), boilers and pressure vessels. Fuels work is limited to TSSA-registered contractors employing certified gas technicians, so your registration belongs on the site.
  • The Electrical Safety Authority covers electrical safety and licensing; only licensed electrical contractors may bid on or advertise electrical work. If your company does electrical work, ask ESA how your licence should be shown.
  • Skilled Trades Ontario handles trade certification, WSIB workers' compensation, and Consumer Protection Ontario consumer matters.

We link and summarise only. We show the registrations you give us, worded as issued.

Programs to schedule around, as of October 2026

Ontario has open rebates that are useful for heat pump and efficiency content.

  • The Home Renovation Savings Program, delivered by Save on Energy and Enbridge Gas with provincial support, lists rebates for single upgrades, including up to $7,500 for a cold-climate air source heat pump and up to $12,000 for ground source, and for bundled upgrades after a home energy assessment. No closure notice appeared on official pages as of October 22, 2026.
  • The Energy Affordability Program offers free upgrades for income-eligible households, including a time-limited stream for oil-heated homes; its end date was not verified.
  • Ontario had no federal affordability-program agreement as of October 22, 2026.

Your first 90 days in Ontario

  1. Trial week: benchmark against the companies taking map-pack positions in each of your main cities, not just one.
  2. Onboarding: core service pages, a dated rebate page, and a plan for area pages that will be written over the following months.
  3. Month two: campaigns launched with city-level ad groups, so that Brampton calls and Markham calls can be judged separately.
  4. Month three: first clean month; usually the point where we recommend whether Growth's content volume is needed.

Results from our HVAC work include Roma Heating & Cooling, with 400% organic traffic growth in 12 months. For more Ontario-specific resources, HVAC.Digital is the group's Ontario-focused brand. See the local SEO page, the pricing page, or the areas hub.

Frequently asked questions

Which plan suits an Ontario company?

In the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa or Hamilton, the content volume and review work in Growth usually matter, because many companies compete for the same searches. In smaller Ontario cities and towns, Starter can be enough. The trial benchmark tells us which.

Can we promote the Home Renovation Savings Program?

Yes, accurately. As of October 2026 the program lists rebates for upgrades such as cold-climate air source heat pumps, delivered by Save on Energy and Enbridge Gas. We put the current terms on a dated page linked to the official source and re-check monthly.

Who regulates fuels work in Ontario?

The Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) covers fuels such as natural gas, propane and fuel oil, plus boilers and pressure vessels. The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) covers electrical work. We link both; licensing questions go to them.
